Trust: Questioning God When Life is on the Brink (April 24 - May 29, 2011)
Our world is broken in every way imaginable.  We live with natural calamity, man-made calamity, and violence.  Because we live in a broken world, our lives are troubled and we are at the brink of disaster.  We question God when life is on the brink.  Is he hearing us?  Does he care?  Is he going to do anything to help relieve our trouble?

The Bible tells us that our Lord is troubled along with us.  When we are troubled, our Lord is troubled with us and for us.  Because of our trouble, our Lord became broken for us.  He descended onto earth, into our suffering, and shared in our suffering.  He took the punishment for our sins upon himself.

When life in on the brink, what will it be?  Will you call on the name of the Lord and trust him?  Will you turn and believe in Jesus Christ and confess Jesus as Lord of your life?  Will you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead and that he will do the same for you?  Will you repent and ask forgiveness for your sin?  Will you be immersed into the waters of baptism and embrace Jesus' salvation?

Jesus has a promise of peace for those who believe in him.  John 16:33 (NIV) says, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world."

Why is This Happening to Me?
[April 24, 2011] Why is This Happening to Me? "Why am I so troubled? Why is this happening to me?" When it's all said and done, it doesn't matter how much health, strength, life, charisma, money, fame, job, power, or house we've built. Jesus tells us that in this world, there will be trouble. But the good news is that Christ has overcome the world. What matters for eternity is whether we've set our feet on the firm foundation of Christ. A message by Dr. Jon Morrissette.  read more...
What is in My Future?
[May 1, 2011] What is in My Future? In light of all the trouble in this world, sickness, divorce, lust, adultery, violence and natural disasters, we wonder what God can do for us. What does our future hold? Regardless of what God can or might do for us in this life, we can know without any doubt that Jesus is preparing a place for us in heaven, that he will come back to take us to be with him, and that we can know with certainty the way to eternal life. A message by Dr. Jon Morrissette.  read more...
What is My Path Forward?
[May 8, 2011] What is My Path Forward? Our path forward isn't a place or a destination or a method or a technique or a coordinate. Our path forward is a person. It is our Lord Jesus Christ who is standing before our very eyes. He's inviting us to come and follow him. A message by Dr. Jon Morrissette.  read more...
Where is My Help for Today?
[May 15, 2011] Where is My Help for Today? Trouble comes into our lives because of our sin, the sins of others, the curse of God, satanic activity, God's discipline, or our own righteousness. In this world there will be trouble! Trouble should not drive us from God, but ought to draw us near to God for help. Turn to God and trust him. God has answers for our troubles. What Does God Have in Store for Me?
[May 22, 2011] What Does God Have in Store for Me? God wants to bless his people, but God has a purpose for blessing his people. God blesses us through his direct intervention, through his interaction with his people on earth, and through inner-vention, changing us from the inside-out to be the people he wants us to be. God blesses us so that we have more opportunities to bring his message to the world. God is the God of all the nations! A message by Jeff Wilhoit.   read more...
Who Helps Me in Troubling Times?
[May 29, 2011] Who Helps Me in Troubling Times? When Jesus left the earth, he did not leave us as orphans. He left us his Holy Spirit to guide us in our troubling times. Jesus even said that the Spirit, through us, would do greater things than he did when he was here on earth. If we know who the Spirit is, we have the knowledge to live with any circumstance even if we do not know why it is happening to us. A message by Dr. Don Green.   read more...
