Progress as of 2/17/2012
Last Sunday morning for the first time we held children and youth classes in our new addition. It was exciting to see all the kids in this new space and also to see the excitement on their faces. One little girl was heard saying, “Mommy, I just love new classrooms!!” Then on Wednesday evening, there were kids, youth and adults using the new space. While there are still a few minor touch ups that need to be completed, the new addition looks great. On Monday, February 13, the renovation of portions of the existing building began with Lakeside volunteers stepping in to start tearing out areas in the southern and eastern corridors of the building. The turnout of volunteers has been great and they have done an excellent job. At this point, with the work they have completed to date, we think we are ahead of schedule and believe we will be done with our part of the work well before our goal of February 27. So if you are into destruction, there’s still time to get in on the fun. But don’t wait around too long or it will all be done!!! Saturday, February 18 is going to be a big day with lots of folks working, including a large number of our youth. So come on out and enjoy the fun!!! Hope to see you there!!! (Feb 17, 2012)
