Study Questions

  1. Share a time when you most felt the love of your Christian family? When do you think people in this world most need to experience the love of Christ through us?
  2. Read 1 John 3:10-17. What evidences of love do you find here?   Why does this kind of love seem so rare in our world?
  3. Read James 2:1-9. What do you learn about love in this passage? What factors tend to make us treat people with more or less love?  How do we overcome partiality?
  4. Read 1 John 4:11-5:1. How many reasons to love and results of love can you find in this passage? How might you pray this passage back to God? (Use the back side of this sheet to write out your prayer.)
  5. Romans 5:5 tells us God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit.  Does love come gushing out of you or does it seem to be held to a trickle? How might we increase the flow?
  6. Who will receive your love this week?  Whom might your group join together to show love in the next month?
