Worship and Production

Vocalists and Worship Leaders:

Who: Vocalists who are members of Lakeside

When: When scheduled to serve, Vocalists attend pre-service prep and rehearsal on Sundays from 7:00 to 9:00 AM, followed by worship services from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Worship Leaders also attend a production meeting at 6:30 AM.

Where: Lakeside’s Worship Center, stage

Why: To worship God through music and facilitate the worship of Lakeside guests and members, on campus and online.

What: Vocalists must represent the church well through demonstrating good character and preparedness for leading the music of the worship service. Musically, vocalists must be able to memorize lyrics and vocal parts, sing harmony, and sing on pitch. Vocalists who also lead must have a broad vocal range, a strong vocal ability to lead others with confidence, and may also play an instrument (guitar or keyboard).


Worship Band and Music Directors:

Who: Musicians (instrumentalists)

When: When scheduled to serve, Band Members attend pre-service prep and rehearsal on Sundays from 7:00 to 9:00 AM, followed by worship services from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Music Directors also attend a production meeting at 6:30 AM.

Where: Lakeside’s Worship Center, stage

Why: To worship God through music and facilitate the worship of Lakeside guests and members, on campus and online.

What: Band Members must represent the church well through demonstrating good character and preparedness for leading the music of the worship service. Musically, band members must have developed the skills needed to play an acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, or drums (or multiple instruments) and a solid command of their instrument. Music Directors must be able to give direction to the band during rehearsal and performance, and must also have a functional knowledge of Ableton software. Band members may also serve as Vocalists or Worship Leaders.


Production:

Who: People interested or skilled in video, lighting, or sound

When: When scheduled to serve, members of the Production Team attend pre-service prep and rehearsal on Sundays from 7:00 to 9:00 AM, followed by worship services from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Video Directors and FOH (sound) also attend a production meeting at 6:30 AM.

Where: Lakeside’s Worship Center, production control booth

Why: To worship God through music and facilitate the worship of Lakeside guests and members, on campus and online.

What: Members of the Production Team must represent the church well through demonstrating good character and preparedness for facilitating the worship service. All training is provided, though a basic understanding of computers and a willingness to work as a team during the live production of a service is required. Software programs include: LightKey software for lighting, ProPresenter software for graphics (such as the song lyrics), and Vmix Software for video switching. For FOH, previous experience in audio mixing is preferred, and musical experience is a plus.
