Early this year Lake Springfield Christian Assembly moved on the opportunity to purchase some adjacent property to the north of the existing camp. This purchase will assure security and safety of campers while providing many added opportunities for ministry. In addition to our regular monthly support of the LSCA ministry, Lakeside will be collecting a “30 Pieces of Silver” offering on April 9th. This offering will help with the down payment of $75,000 on the $375,000 cost for the 2.5 acres of property.
Why 30 Pieces of silver? As we consider the loving act of Jesus dying on the cross for our sins, we also remember the price paid to Judas for betraying Jesus with a kiss. Our “30 Pieces of Silver” offering is our way to redeem that act of betrayal by gathering an offering that will grow God’s kingdom. We encourage children to begin saving up their silver coins and adults are invited to bring bills or checks (made out to Lakeside Christian Church with “30 Pieces” written on the memo line) as we prepare this special above and beyond gift for the ministry of LSCA.
